Amidst working-from-home adjustments due to the global pandemic, we’re incredibly proud today to share great news! We’ve been recognized for the 11th straight year as one of Canada’s Top 100 employers, according to Mediacorp Canada Inc.
During a year that forced companies to re-think their infrastructure, heighten communications, and extend services to employees working from home, Digital Extremes was quick to adapt and evolve.
“The very best employers have always been innovators,” said Richard Yerema, managing editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp, now celebrating its 21st annual edition of the competition. “(These employers) are better prepared to move quickly in response to a rapid challenge like the pandemic. You can see the positive benefit these employers have gained from their earlier experience of continually revisiting workplace strategies and programs.”
The Globe and Mail’s special edition magazine reports Digital Extremes scored its highest rankings (A+) in 1) Physical Workplace, 2) Work Atmosphere and Communications, 3) Training and Skills Development, and 4) Community Involvement. Digital Extremes also scored very high in each of the remaining criteria: Work Atmosphere & Social; Health, Financial & Family Benefits; Vacation & Time Off; Employee Communications; and Performance Management.
Themes dominating this year’s winning class showed strong support for their employees during the pandemic while those same teams extended their support to their local communities, with volunteering logging more than 570,000 hours at charitable organizations across Canada.
“From assisting employees in setting up home offices to providing them with paid time-off to volunteer in the community, this year’s winners have raised the bar in what it means to be a top employer,” the organization said. Many of the winners also paid increased attention to their employees’ health while working offsite, including increased subsidies for wellness and mental health.
In October alone, Warframe’s community team streamed or worked side-by-side with streaming partners to raise $105,000 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Digital Extremes added $20,000 to the fund, as a ‘thank you’ to its community. And as part of TennoCon, the annual Warframe conference that takes place in August, Digital Extremes worked with the Alzheimer Society London & Middlesex and Autism Ontario, London Chapter in the all-day TennoLive stream, giving each organization $100,000 for their community work. These are just some of the community-based events we work on throughout the year.
